'Mother's Pride' is an interpretation in the style of Edvard Munch (1863-1944) of Dizzy's husband at around 12 months of age, sitting with his 5 year old brother and his late 7 year old sister, circa 1966. Edvard Munch's artistic style is primarily called Expressionism. As a pioneer of the movement, his work focused on conveying intensely emotional and psychological states through distorted forms and bold, symbolic colors rather than realistic representation.
Dizzy has completed a few portraits before 'His True Colours', but was unsure of their quality. Now she has embraced the Painterly/Abstract Realism style in her new 'Icons' Series (click the button below)
